Businesses must make sure that their places of work are free of harassment and discrimination or face the possibility of a lawsuit. There are several classes of people that care considered a “protected class” and they are applicants, employees and former employees. If you fall into one of these protected classes, you can file against a business to potentially get compensated, regain your former position, or obtain other benefits.

Some examples of harassment include, but are not limited to, inappropriate jokes, insults, name-calling, poster or cartoons hung in the workplace that appear to directed at a person because of their race, color, sex or general, sexual orientation, etc.
